This bill amends the Oklahoma Milk and Milk Products Act by updating statutory references, modifying definitions to include "hooved mammals" instead of just "cows" and "goats" in certain contexts, and increasing the fees for the production and sale of milk products. Specifically, the fee on raw milk produced in the state and on Grade A milk or milk products processed or offered for retail sale will double from one cent to two cents per one hundred pounds. A new fee of two cents per hundred pounds is also established for milk or milk products produced or processed in another state and imported into Oklahoma, with the responsibility for payment falling on the importer. Additionally, the bill clarifies that the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry is the official state agency for cooperating with federal dairy inspection and grading programs, including those from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Public Health Service, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. This act is set to become effective on November 1, 2026.
