This bill amends a Kentucky law (KRS 16.197) to allow individuals who previously served as a "Trooper R Class" or a "commercial vehicle enforcement officer R class" to return to service with the Kentucky State Police. Previously, these retired officers had to be separated from service for at least one month and no more than sixty months following their official retirement date. This bill expands that provision to also allow them to return if they have been separated from the Department of Kentucky State Police for at least one month and no more than sixty months following their *latest* separation date, specifically if they have already held one of these "R Class" positions before. The "R Class" designation refers to a specific category of retired officers who are rehired by the department.
