These exemptions include administration by licensed medical, veterinary, or dental practitioners for professional care, use as a propellant in food products, use by manufacturers in industrial processes, filling cylinders for lawful distributors of medical, food-grade, industrial, or automotive gases when sold for exempt purposes and not for personal use, and for automotive purposes. The bill defines "nitrous oxide" broadly to include common names like N2O, dinitrogen monoxide, dinitrogen oxide, nitrogen oxide, or laughing gas, and establishes this new regulation as a chapter within Title 69 of the Revised Code of Washington (RCW), which is a compilation of the state's laws.
