This bill allows individuals required to register as sex offenders in Arizona to petition the court to end their registration requirement after a certain period, specifically ten years for offenses committed as an adult or five years for offenses committed as a minor, provided their duty to register hasn't already been terminated by other provisions. To be granted this termination, the petitioner must prove to the court, by a preponderance of the evidence (meaning it's more likely than not true), that they have not committed any new sex offenses since their sentencing, are unlikely to commit future sex offenses, and do not pose a danger to others.
