This bill, effective January 1, 2027, allows rural hospitals located on federally recognized Indian reservations to receive payments for services provided to individuals eligible for medical assistance programs, regardless of whether those individuals are enrolled in managed care. These payments will be set at 150 percent of the standard fee-for-service rate for inpatient and outpatient hospital services, excluding services provided in psychiatric units. This provision, which aims to improve healthcare access for these communities, will expire on January 1, 2029.
