This bill, amending existing Oklahoma law regarding medical marijuana processors, introduces specific restrictions on edible medical marijuana products to prevent them from being appealing to children. These restrictions include requiring that packages clearly state the number of servings of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive compound in marijuana, per package and per serving, and that edible products cannot be manufactured in shapes resembling humans, cartoons, or animals, nor in a form that resembles commercially available candy. Furthermore, the bill prohibits the use of images, words, or likenesses designed to appeal to individuals under eighteen years old, such as cartoons, toys, or depictions of children, and also disallows any resemblance to popular advertising for minors or commercially available candy. The bill also specifies an effective date of November 1, 2026.
