This bill, titled the Homeland Threat Response Act, amends the Homeland Security Act of 2002 to allow U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), an agency responsible for border security and customs, to assist in investigations of certain violent acts, shootings, and mass killings. Specifically, it adds CBP to the list of agencies that can provide support and inserts language to broaden their role beyond just investigation to include response, threat mitigation, and resolution in these critical situations.
