This bill exempts active duty military service members who are stationed out of state on official military orders from paying an additional registration fee for all-electric vehicles, provided the vehicle is titled and registered in their name, or jointly with a spouse or lineal relative, and they submit a copy of their orders when renewing their registration. This change amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 55-4-116, which deals with vehicle registration fees, and also requests a technical update to Section 55-6-107 to reflect the new provisions. The bill takes effect on July 1, 2026, and applies to registrations renewed on or after that date.
