This bill revises existing laws on stalking by expanding the definition of stalking to include knowingly posting someone's address or location, or identifying information, online without their consent with the intent to intimidate or cause distress, and clarifies that a second or subsequent stalking conviction within ten years is a Class 6 felony, with out-of-state convictions counting towards this. It also amends the felony stalking of a child law to include intent to cause the child to reasonably fear for their safety and introduces a new crime of felony stalking of a public official, which applies to elected officials, legislators, judges, and law enforcement officers if they are targeted with the intent to cause fear of death, great bodily injury, or for their safety, also punishable as a Class 6 felony.
