This bill establishes a grant program, managed by the Department of Finance and Administration, to help municipalities and counties fund repairs, renovations, upgrades, and improvements to veterans parks they operate or maintain. To receive these grants, local governments must apply to the department, detailing their needs and the amount requested, and prove they have secured matching funds from their own sources, private donors, or other avenues, equal to or greater than the grant amount requested. The bill also creates a dedicated "Municipalities and Counties Veterans Parks Fund" within the State Treasury, which will hold legislative appropriations and any interest earned, with unspent funds carrying over to the next fiscal year, and these monies will be disbursed by the department for the grant program as appropriated by the Legislature. The Department of Finance and Administration is empowered to create the necessary rules and regulations to implement and oversee this program.
