This bill amends existing Mississippi law to prohibit sexual acts between law enforcement officers or correctional facility employees and any person who is incarcerated, under correctional supervision (such as probation or parole), or otherwise in custody, even if the person consents. The bill also extends this prohibition to civilians with supervisory or custodial authority over such individuals. A sexual penetration is defined as any penetration of the genital or anal opening, or the mouth of another person, or the breast of another person. Violating this law is considered a felony, punishable by a fine of up to $5,000, imprisonment for up to five years, or both, and the law will take effect on July 1, 2026.
