AI Summary

This bill allows retirees of the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) in Mississippi to be employed full-time in positions deemed to have a critical need or shortage of employees and still receive their full retirement benefits. To qualify, employers must provide proof of this critical need or shortage with specific data and demonstrate that the retiree possesses the necessary education and experience for the role. This provision aims to address staffing challenges by enabling experienced retirees to return to full-time work without penalty to their retirement income, though retired teachers eligible under a different provision are excluded from this specific exception.
