AI Summary

This bill amends existing law to establish that any firearm or motor vehicle used by a person who hunts on private land without the owner's permission will be forfeited to the State, following procedures outlined in chapter 712A of the Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS). Chapter 712A pertains to forfeiture proceedings. For a first offense, a court has the discretion to waive the forfeiture and instead impose a fine of at least $750. The bill also clarifies that "firearm" and "motor vehicle" are defined as they are in sections 134-1 and 286-2 of the HRS, respectively, and specifies that this change will take effect on July 1, 2050.
