This bill requires Class A counties and municipalities with a population exceeding thirty thousand to begin reporting specific data on housing development quarterly, starting July 1, 2026. These local governments must publish this information on their websites and submit it to the economic development department and the legislative finance committee. The required data includes the number of residential development plan applications received and the number of dwelling units proposed in them, as well as the number of applications approved or denied and the corresponding dwelling units. The bill also mandates reporting on the time it takes for these applications to be deemed complete and then approved or denied, and similar data for residential building permits, including the number of single-family and multifamily permits issued and the number of dwelling units in multifamily buildings. Finally, the reporting will include a narrative section for each data point to allow for additional comments.
