This bill requires the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism (DBEDT) to publicly announce details about film productions that obtain permits or agreements to film at state-managed locations, including the production's name and a contact person's information, within five business days (or fourteen days during emergencies), and also post this information on its website. Additionally, DBEDT must provide similar public notice when a production registers for or qualifies for the Motion Picture, Digital Media, and Film Production Income Tax Credit, which is a tax incentive for film production companies. Individuals can opt-in to receive these notices via email or postal mail. The bill also exempts land set aside for filming and film studio operations from requiring prior approval from the Board of Land and Natural Resources for certain dispositions, meaning these land uses will have a more streamlined process for certain agreements.
