A key condition is that the nonprofit retail licensee must temporarily suspend its own regular retail operations during the special event. The bill also amends existing law to permit manufacturers, bottlers, brokers, importers, or wholesalers to sponsor or support special events held by municipalities or nonprofit organizations at museums or historic sites, provided that any existing retail license on the premises is deactivated for the duration of the event. This change aims to facilitate events while maintaining a separation between different tiers of the alcohol industry, preventing undue influence and overly aggressive sales tactics.
