This bill officially renames the Ross Barnett Reservoir, a large body of water spanning Hinds, Rankin, Madison, Scott, and Leake Counties in Mississippi, to the "B.B. King Reservoir" in honor of the legendary blues musician. The Department of Finance and Administration, working with the Pearl River Valley Water Supply District, is tasked with creating and installing signage and plaques throughout the reservoir area and on the reservoir control tower to reflect the new name and highlight B.B. King's achievements and contributions. The bill also specifies that this name change will take effect on July 1, 2026.
