It also stipulates that applicants whose families have an annual income of $42,500 or less will be considered to be in financial need, and expands the definition of "Mississippi law enforcement officer" to include individuals appointed or employed full-time by the state or a political subdivision whose primary duties involve crime prevention, detection, apprehension of criminals, and/or enforcement of criminal and traffic laws.
