This bill requires landlords to disclose certain information to tenants regarding flood risk and history, specifically that the property may be located in a special flood hazard area or an area of potential flooding, that the landlord's insurance does not cover the tenant's personal possessions and that tenants should consider renter's and flood insurance, and that information about property hazards, including flood risk, is available from the county government. These new disclosure requirements will apply to leases entered into after December 31, 2026, and are being added to existing landlord responsibilities outlined in RCW 59.18.060, which details a landlord's duty to maintain rental premises in a fit and habitable condition.
