This bill amends existing Mississippi law regarding motor vehicle window tinting to allow licensed optometrists, in addition to physicians, to diagnose and certify medical conditions that are seriously aggravated by sunlight, thereby authorizing individuals with such conditions to obtain a medical exemption for tinted windows. This exemption allows for the use of tinted film or other darkening materials on a vehicle's windows that would otherwise be in violation of current tinting regulations, provided the owner obtains a certificate of medical exemption.
