For new housing developments, the DHCD will collect data on the number of submitted and approved development plans, the number of housing units with income-based restrictions (specifying different income thresholds like 80%, 50%, and 30% of area median income), the duration of these restrictions, the size of housing units, and the average time it takes for localities to approve or deny single-family and multi-family housing development plans, broken down by approval stage. For existing housing developments, the database will include similar information on submitted and approved plans, income-restricted units, the duration of those restrictions, and average approval timelines. The data in this database will be updated annually.
