This bill modifies existing law to increase the frequency with which the State Resiliency Officer, who serves as the Governor's primary representative for disaster recovery and resiliency efforts, must update the state's Flood Resiliency Plan. Previously, the plan was updated at least every two years, but this bill mandates an annual update, due by June 30th each year, and requires the plan to include recommendations for high-impact preventative measures and specific details on the five most critical flood prevention projects for each Regional Planning and Development Council zone. Additionally, the bill introduces new reporting requirements, obligating the State Resiliency Officer to report on the Flood Resiliency Plan at least twice a year and to report annually to the Joint Committee on Energy and Public Works, in addition to the existing quarterly and annual reporting to the Joint Legislative Committee on Flooding.
