This bill enacts a new provision, R.S. 13:2488.1(A)(2)(c), to expand the territorial jurisdiction of the City Court of Franklin, a court in Louisiana. Specifically, it extends the court's authority beyond its current boundaries to include certain parts of Ward Four in St. Mary Parish. This expansion covers the area in Ward Four that lies east of Ward Three, north of Louisiana Highway 182, and south of Bayou Teche, extending to the Centerville Bridge Approach Road. For these areas within Ward Four that are outside the town of Franklin itself, the City Court of Franklin will now share jurisdiction with the justice of the peace in cases where the justice of the peace would normally have authority.
