AI Summary
This bill authorizes pharmacists to provide the drug ivermectin to adults aged 18 and older under specific conditions, allowing them to dispense it without a direct prescription from a doctor if it's part of a "collaborative pharmacy practice agreement." This agreement involves standardized procedures and non-patient-specific orders created by authorized medical practitioners, and the Board of Pharmacy will establish rules for pharmacists to follow, including providing patients with a risk assessment tool and a fact sheet detailing ivermectin's uses and risks, before dispensing it or referring the patient to another pharmacy. Pharmacists can charge an administrative fee for these services in addition to the cost of the medication, and both pharmacists and practitioners involved in providing ivermectin under these rules are protected from disciplinary actions and civil lawsuits, unless there is gross negligence or willful misconduct.
