This resolution commends Maritza Piñero, a dedicated civil servant who retired in 2025 after 25 years of service to the Town of Leesburg. Before her tenure in Leesburg, Piñero earned a bachelor's degree from the Universidad de Puerto Rico and worked in human resources in both the private sector and as the human resources director for the Municipality of Ceiba, Puerto Rico. She joined the Town of Leesburg in 2000 as a personnel analyst and later served as the benefits administrator for most of her career, overseeing employee benefits and helping the town's operations grow to accommodate an increase in workforce from 150 to over 400 employees. The resolution expresses the admiration of the Virginia General Assembly for her significant contributions to the Town of Leesburg and the Commonwealth, and directs that a copy be presented to her.
