This means that if a teacher has earned a Master Teacher Certificate from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and works in a school district identified as having a significant need for teachers, they will receive this additional payment on top of their regular salary. The bill also clarifies that teachers who are assigned to these critical shortage areas for less than a full year or less than full-time will receive a prorated amount of the supplement, with their assignment status determined as of June 15th of the school year.
