This bill amends Tennessee law regarding food safety by creating exceptions to the requirement for licenses or permits for selling certain food items. Specifically, individuals 18 years old or younger will not need a license or permit to sell bakery goods, soft drinks, or similar food items at public events. Additionally, individuals 19 years old or older will also be exempt from needing a license or permit if they are selling these items to support a 501(c)(3) organization, which is a type of nonprofit organization recognized by the IRS, and if that organization's mission involves providing temporary housing for children in the custody of the department of children's services.
