This bill amends Arizona law to add March 31 as "Cesar Chavez day" and April 1 as "Dolores Huerta day" to the list of official state holidays, and it also makes adjustments to how holidays falling on weekends are observed, specifically noting that the new Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta days, along with Mothers' Day, Fathers' Day, American Family Day, National Navajo Code Talkers Day, and Constitution Commemoration Day, will have their observance shifted to the preceding Friday if they fall on a Saturday, and to the following Monday if they fall on a Sunday, with some exceptions for holidays that are already tied to a specific day of the week like Sundays. Additionally, this bill repeals a section of Arizona Revised Statutes that is no longer needed.
