This bill requires any company licensed to offer sports wagering, which is betting on the outcome of sporting events, to block access to this wagering on the campuses of public colleges and universities in Tennessee. This restriction applies to the geographical boundaries of the main campus, including nearby properties used for student housing or communal purposes, and also extends to sports venues used by these institutions for sanctioned collegiate or athletic events, even if they are not located on campus. Furthermore, public institutions of higher education themselves must take steps to prevent internet access to sports wagering through their own networks, whether wired or wireless, for students, faculty, staff, and the public. The bill defines "campus" and "institution of higher education" for these purposes and will take effect on July 1, 2026.
