This bill mandates that all health insurance plans offered or renewed in Missouri starting January 1, 2027, must cover treatments for perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause, including hormone therapy, certain antidepressants like SSRIs (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors) and SNRIs (Serotonin-Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors), vaginal estrogen, osteoporosis medications, neurokinin B antagonists, topical hormone therapy, and bioidentical hormones, provided these treatments are approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The bill also specifies that this coverage cannot have higher deductibles or copayments than other similar healthcare services and clarifies that these requirements do not apply to supplemental insurance policies such as Medicare supplement policies or long-term care policies.
