This bill, known as "The Mississippi Heroes Support Fund Act," establishes a special fund in the State Treasury to provide supplemental pay to law enforcement officers. The fund will be administered by the Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety and will be financed by fifty percent of certain fines and assessments, donations, and accrued interest. Full-time certified law enforcement officers who have completed at least one year of service and are in good standing with their agency will receive an annual distribution from the fund.
