This bill amends Alabama law to prohibit the inclusion of the "date of disposition" on death certificates, which refers to the date of burial, cremation, or other final arrangements for a deceased person. The bill also clarifies that the State Registrar, who is responsible for vital statistics, will determine the required information for various certificates and reports, including those for births, deaths, marriages, divorces, fetal deaths, and induced terminations of pregnancy, and that this information can be filed electronically. This change will take effect on October 1, 2026.
