This bill changes the disability threshold to be at least 50 percent, making it easier for more disabled veterans to receive these plates. The bill also clarifies that the five-dollar fee for these special plates can be applied to any license plate category the disabled veteran qualifies for, with any additional fees for distinctive or personalized plates still being required. The changes are set to take effect on January 1, 2027.
