This bill amends Mississippi Code Section 97-33-52 to revise how the proceeds from bingo games are distributed, specifically impacting charitable organizations licensed to conduct these games. Previously, all net proceeds had to be spent on the organization's stated charitable purposes, but this bill changes that requirement by stating that no more than sixty-five percent (65%) of net proceeds are required to be spent on those purposes, while allowing at least thirty-five percent (35%) of net proceeds to be spent on the organization's administrative costs. The bill also clarifies that any distribution of net proceeds to a charity outside of Mississippi requires approval from the Mississippi Gaming Commission, which is the state agency overseeing these regulations. The changes are set to take effect on July 1, 2026.
