This bill authorizes the State of Mississippi to issue up to $5,000,000 in general obligation bonds to help the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority fund the construction of an emergency access road connecting Hawkins Field (an airport) with City of Jackson Fire Station 20. The State Bond Commission, referred to as the "Commission," will manage the issuance and sale of these bonds, which are general obligations of the state and will be repaid using the full faith and credit of Mississippi. The proceeds will be placed in a special fund called the "2026 Jackson Municipal Airport Authority Emergency Access Road Fund," and any remaining funds after the road is built will be used to pay off the bonds. The bonds will mature within twenty-five years of their issuance and cannot be issued after July 1, 2030, with the act taking effect on July 1, 2026.
