This bill amends West Virginia law to eliminate the ban on using bait, which is any food or attractant used to lure game animals, for hunting all game animals in every county. Previously, using bait was prohibited for certain game animals like wild turkeys, ruffed grouse, pheasants, and quail, and also specifically for bears, where bait included items like corn, grains, animal carcasses, sugars, and scent attractants. The bill removes these restrictions, allowing baiting to be a permissible hunting method statewide for all game animals.
