This bill amends Section 81-829.39 of the Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska to redefine terms used within the Emergency Management Act, which provides the framework for how the state and its local governments prepare for and respond to various emergencies. Specifically, the bill inserts "snow and ice removal" and "flood management" into the definition of "emergency management," which encompasses all activities undertaken to mitigate, prevent, minimize, respond to, and recover from disasters, emergencies, or civil defense emergencies, excluding those primarily handled by military forces. The original section containing these definitions is then repealed.
