This bill amends existing law to allow certain Nebraska resident veterans to obtain a combination hunting and fishing permit, along with specific stamps for habitat and waterfowl, for a fee. Previously, veterans rated 50% or more disabled by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) received these permits and stamps for free. The new provisions, however, introduce a tiered fee structure: veterans rated 10% or more disabled by the VA can purchase a three-year permit for ninety dollars or a five-year permit for one hundred thirty-five dollars, provided they have an honorable discharge. The bill also repeals the original section of law it amends, effectively replacing the old provisions with these new ones.
