This bill mandates that the Mississippi Division of Medicaid will reimburse for vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) surgical implant procedures, specifically CPT codes 64568 and 61885, when performed in hospitals on an outpatient basis or in ambulatory surgical facilities, with set reimbursement rates of $45,000 for CPT code 64568 and $35,000 for CPT code 61885, effective July 1, 2026. Additionally, any contracts between the Division of Medicaid and managed care organizations (MCOs) that are entered into or renewed on or after the bill's effective date must include a provision requiring the MCO to adhere to these specified reimbursement rates for VNS surgical implant procedures for fee-for-service providers, and the Division will also attempt to amend existing contracts to include this requirement.
