Furthermore, it clarifies the composition and timeline for developing reintegration plans for students involved in serious offenses, requiring a multidisciplinary team to create these plans within seven school days of notification while school is in session, or seven school days after school resumes if notified during a break. The bill also specifies that reintegration plans remain in effect for a full school year or 180 days, and it prohibits reintegration into a school if a student or staff member has a protective order against the student or is a victim of certain offenses committed by the student. Finally, it updates provisions regarding notification to schools about juvenile court actions and requires LEAs (Local Education Agencies, which are school districts or charter schools) to digitally maintain cumulative student files or reintegration plans for one year, ensuring these records follow students who transfer.
