This review can cover the current tax year and the three preceding tax years, and it applies when the public utility has property subject to local property taxes within that government body's jurisdiction. The bill amends an existing law (K.S.A. 79-5a02) that already requires public utilities to report property information for appraisal and apportionment, which is the process of determining the value of property for tax purposes and allocating it among different taxing districts.
