This bill amends Mississippi Code Section 41-7-191 to direct the State Department of Health to issue Certificates of Need (CONs) to a specific type of healthcare provider, a "post-acute care in-home health provider" that participates in the CMS GUIDE Model and offers an "in-home continuum of care model," for the establishment of home health agencies in Copiah and Stone Counties. The CMS GUIDE Model is a program designed to improve post-acute care, and a continuum of care means providing a range of health services. This amendment also waives certain requirements for obtaining these specific CONs, namely the need to demonstrate substantial compliance with the State Health Plan's projections and the requirement for a formal public hearing process, and it ensures that these providers will not face restrictions on participating in the Medicaid program.
