This bill proposes to change the meeting schedule for the Revenue Estimating Conferences (R.E.C.), which are responsible for preparing economic forecasts and revenue estimates. Currently, the R.E.C. principals meet within the first ten days of May and November, but this bill would shift the May meeting to occur within the last ten days of April, while keeping the November meeting within the first ten days of that month. The R.E.C. is a consensus-based body where all principals must agree on recommendations regarding revenue collections and economic forecasts, and this act would take effect immediately upon its passage.
