This bill establishes new regulations for kratom products in Washington State, defining key terms such as "kratom extract" (a substance derived from the kratom leaf containing specific alkaloids), "kratom processor" (anyone involved in selling, preparing, or manufacturing kratom products), and "kratom retailer" (anyone selling or distributing kratom products). Importantly, Section 1 of this act will expire on June 30, 2027, and Section 2 will take effect on June 30, 2027, indicating a phased implementation or transition of these regulations.
