This bill establishes the Arizona Rural Health Transformation Fund, which will be managed by the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), the state's Medicaid program, and will consist of funds received through a federal program called the Rural Health Transformation Program, as outlined in Public Law 119-21. Before any money from this fund can be spent, AHCCCS must conduct three public meetings in each of the major metropolitan areas of northern, central, and southern Arizona to gather public input on how the funds should be used. Following these meetings, AHCCCS must then submit a detailed plan for how the money will be spent to the Joint Legislative Budget Committee for their approval.
