The resolution highlights his significant contributions as a national leader in environmental protection, conservation, and the defense of tribal sovereignty, particularly his role in advocating for Native American tribes and protecting ancestral lands, which culminated in the designation of the Baaj Nwaavjo I'tah Kukveni-Ancestral Footprints of the Grand Canyon National Monument.
