This bill authorizes certain healthcare professionals licensed in other jurisdictions to practice in New York State without obtaining a New York license, specifically for the Milan Cortina Winter Olympic Games sliding sports competitions in Lake Placid in 2026. This applies to professionals like physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and athletic trainers who are licensed by a foreign government and will be providing services to athletes, coaches, staff, and delegations from that foreign government. It also allows professionals licensed and in good standing in other U.S. states or territories, who have been appointed by the Olympic Regional Development Authority, to provide services to teams from their respective states or territories. These temporary permissions are strictly limited to the period between January 27, 2026, and February 25, 2026, and will automatically expire and be repealed after that date.
