This bill increases the number of associate circuit judges in Franklin County, which is part of the 20th Judicial Circuit. Specifically, it adds one new associate circuit judge position for Franklin County, and this new position will not be subject to the usual formula used to determine how many associate circuit judges a county can have, as outlined in section 478.320. The governor will appoint this new judge, who will serve until January 1, 2029, at which point an election will be held in 2028 to fill the position.
