The commission will be responsible for evaluating existing efforts, supporting research and reporting on these conditions, advising the governor and the Department of Health, reviewing state regulations and policies, holding public hearings, and making policy recommendations to improve public health monitoring, research, and solutions for affected women. The commission will operate with administrative assistance from the Department of Health, hold quarterly public meetings, and submit an annual report to legislative committees by December 31st each year.
