This resolution amends the Rules of the House of Representatives to create a Permanent Select Committee on Aging, which will not have the power to pass laws (legislative jurisdiction) but will be responsible for studying and reviewing the challenges faced by older Americans, such as income, housing, health, and employment. The committee will also explore ways to promote public and private programs that help older individuals participate fully in society and contribute their skills, develop policies to coordinate government and private efforts addressing aging issues, and examine any recommendations from the President or the White House Conference on Aging concerning programs for older Americans.
